One person. Big mythology.
Sammuneet Revontulet is a one-person project, built with persistence. The game's background draws from Finnish folklore and the Kalevala — somewhat coloured. The goal was not to make a textbook, but a game in which mythology lives, breathes, and changes on every player's journey.
Game Developer
Design, code, writing and world-building. Years of layering Finnish folklore, the Kalevala and game mechanics.
Pixel Art
Characters, biomes, battle backgrounds and animations. From a 16×16 grid to castle halls and aurora glows.
Music & Sound
Ambient soundscapes, kantele foundations and an audio world that travels from forest to Tuonela. A one-person soundtrack.
Finnish storytelling is among the richest in the world
It is not only the Kalevala — it is a world of thousands of house-spirits, seidas, will-o'-the-wisps and giant's cauldrons that has lived for generations. In the game we wanted to bring it back to life, not into a museum, but to your fingertips.
Godot Engine and pixel art
The game engine is open-source Godot. Sprites, battle backgrounds and the audio world are built piece by piece to match the game's visual style. The site is built with Next.js and statically exported.
